The Onondaga County Re-entry Task Force (OCRTF) is excited to be working with the NYS Dept. of Corrections and Community Supervision, as they launch their ‘Volunteer Reentry Coaching Program.” A collaborative effort with the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services, County Re-entry Task Forces, and Community Partners that will assist with addressing the complex needs of the formerly incarcerated through a structured Coaching (Mentoring) Program.
The mission of the Volunteer Reentry Coaching Program is to provide consistent, caring and stable Reentry Coaches to guide, support, empower and encourage Reentry Coaching Participants as they approach release from prison. Upon the participants return to the community, the Coach will assist the participant with developing the attitude, skills, contacts and motivation that will lead to a successful reintegration into the community.
Participants who wish to serve in this capacity are encouraged to reach out as they will be supported and empowered through DOCCS and the Re-entry Task Force.
